Friday fun post for 30/11/2007

OK, I’ve been really bad at doing Friday fun posts for the last few weeks. D’oh. Today was mostly filled with Christmas shopping (the annoying part of Christmas) - but thankfully Amazon made some of it a lot easier :)

OK, on with a few minor funnies: Continue reading ‘Friday fun post for 30/11/2007′

Animator vs Animation

Found this on DeviantART, and thought it was worth sharing here.

An animator faces his own animation in deadly combat. The battlefield? The Flash interface itself.
A stick figure is created by an animator with the intent to torture. The stick figure drawn by the animator will be using everything he can find - the brush tool, the eraser tool - to get back at his tormentor. It’s resourcefulness versus power. Who will win? You can find out yourself.

– This took three long months.. i think it’s worth it.

Interesting video inside an engine

Here’s an interesting slow-motion video taken by a camera mounted inside an engine, showing the inlet, compression, combustion and exhaust cycle… impressive stuff!

So, if you didn’t know what happens inside your car or bike engine - now you do :)

“Transformer suit” video - this looks like fun!

Now this looks like a *lot* of fun - a French guy called Jean-Yves Blondeau aka "Rollerman" made a roller-suit with 30-odd wheels attached, so you can skate along in any position you like.

*Edit*: here’s another video showing the suit close up, and how easily he can change to “skate” in any position:

Reunion of lion and “parents” - we’re all just animals

This lion was raised by humans and then released into the African wild. See how both the “parents” and the lion react when they see each other for the first time after being separated for an entire year…

Amazing stuff. Found this via Daniel Miessler’s blog.

Meissner Effect - amazing stuff

Now this video is cool:

Will the iPhone blend?

I’ve been getting sick of hearing about the iPhone lately, it seems to be the only thing a lot of bloggers and tech news sites are writing about. Sure it’s a pretty nice-looking gadget, but you’d think it was a f**king cure for cancer by the amount of exposure.

This is one link that amused me though: Will an iPhone blend?

Embedded version:

Amazing bike control

Okay, this dude has serious skills… that’s some amazing bike control!

Great scooter riding (from “Taxi”)

A clip from the beginning of Taxi (a rather good French film by Luc Besson):

Biker makes amazing save and remounts!

This biker makes an amazing save from a highside, being mostly thrown off the bike but managing to get back on! He’ll be glad he was wearing proper leathers and boots.
